The HEC UK Art Club is delighted to invite you to an exclusive conversation with Julie Girard (H.11):
Behind the mirror: exploring narcissism in modern society
an Exclusive Conversation with Julie Girard (H.11)
Wednesday 21st February at 6:30pm
HEC UK House, 43 Parker Street, WC2B 5PS London
in partnership with Librairie La Page
Come and join us for an exclusive conversation with Julie Girard (H.11) writer and philosopher. A copy of the book will be given to all participants.
Julie is a writer and a Ph.D candidate in Philosophy at Paris VIII University. She is based in New York. Before becoming an author, Julie worked as an entrepreneur, first as a gallery director, then as an art advisor, developing an international clientele of art collectors. She then transitioned to an academic/novelist career path. She is a regular columnist for Le Figaro.
Les Larmes de Narcisse, her second novel, will be published in February by Editions Gallimard. Her book explores the concept of narcissism in contemporary society, questions freedom of speech and the power of artistic creation in an increasingly polarized world.
Read here and here few comments (in French) about her first novel, Le Crépuscule des licornes (Editions Gallimard, 2023). This book is a satire of the contemporary society; it explores the tech start-up environment, the promise of augmented intelligence, and the New York art scene.
