Besides the crowdfunding website, WineFunding also structures “club deals” offering larger equity investment opportunities offline. Maxime Debure launched WineFunding in 2016 after a dual experience: as a winemaker in Australia, California, Chile and South Africa, then as a strategy consultant for corporate clients and private equity firms. Maxime graduated as “Ingénieur Agronome” and “Oenologue” in France and also holds a MBA from INSEAD. WineFunding has analyzed over 1,200 projects, selected and financed 52 of those for a total of €17m.About the winesLoire: Domaine Grosbois & Domaine Hauts-Baigneux Nicolas Grosbois took over the small 5 hectare family estate Domaine Grosbois in 2008 and expanded it to 28 hectares in the Chinon appellation. In 2012, he acquired Domaine Hauts-Baigneux with Philippe Mesnier, a 14 hectares estate in the Touraine appellation. Both estates are certified organic and biodynamic. The partners have subsequently launched several wine brands, selling in excess of 1.5 million bottles, exporting 70% to the USA, Canada and Europe.
