As we are still waiting for the warmth of summer, we look back with pride and joy on our recent events that have highlighted the spirit and talent within our alumni community.
Our Pitch Night at the UK House was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talents of our women entrepreneurs, who came from the HEC Incubator in Station F, brought together with HERmesa investors and experts. An evening filled with innovative ideas, passionate pitches, and invaluable networking opportunities!
Following the pitch night, we "claimed the summer back" last week with a delightful summer party themed "An Evening in Provence." It was an enchanting night, filled with laughter, petanque, and the beautiful ambiance of Provence.
As we embrace this Olympic summer, we encourage you all to take some time to pause and reflect. Whether through reading one of the books suggested by our alumni or engaging in some sporting activities, let's make the most of this break to recharge! In this newsletter, we are also thrilled to share some highlights of what our community has achieved since January, showcasing the power and depth of our connections.

2024 HEC UK HIGHLIGHTS!
As we are reaching the end of the season, we wanted to highlight our successful moments together and thank all our volunteers for organising such inspiring and insightful events with us!
Refugee Inclusion: how business lead change was discussed during a high-profile conference organized by the S&O Institute and the HEC UK House in London on January 23, 2024. Academics and businesses shed light on the complex reality of forced migration and the imperative for businesses to play a positive role in this global challenge. The key discussion emphasized the potential mutual benefits for businesses and communities in actively welcoming and supporting refugees. Learn more.
Startup Launchpad 2024
Annually, the HEC UK Office orchestrates a Learning Expedition in London, gathering over 120 ambitious students aspiring to venture into entrepreneurship through the HEC Startup Launchpad program. Led by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute, this program operates as an accelerator, aiming to guide student entrepreneurs in launching their startups within a span of 11 weeks. Read more.

We hosted six incredible startups led by female CEOs. 4 from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (Oly , NomadHer, AUXILIA & Smarteem) and 2 from HERmesa (Martee ai and Anya). A wonderful evening, filled with creativity, networking, and the spirit of entrepreneurship. Read more.

We're often stuck in our to-do lists and they can feel never-ending and all consuming. Worse, they stop us from making the big changes that we so often want. We feel "too busy" to even think about it. The to-do lists keep getting in the way. Luckily, it's not a lot of time that we need, it's simply a different kind of "to do" list. Who do you need TO BE to make the changes you want? Your "to be" list is so much more powerful than your "to do" list.
HEC'S UK Alumni House: MBAs at home away from home in London
HEC’s second-largest alumni population resides in the UK, with more than 4,000 graduates engaging in 100+ events each year. The UK branch is highly active, thanks to the organization of alumni who facilitate regular gatherings and a representative office dedicated to promoting HEC programs and engaging with students and faculty. We offer two categories of programs:
Summer Programs – open to current university students and young professionals 18-28 years.
Youth Programs – designed for high school students 15-18 years.
We would be delighted to welcome our alumni or their family members to these new programs with a special ‘launch’ discount of 25% on the academic fees.
The fertile business of Rajgopal Bhandary (MBA.02)
Starting with two plants and a few rupees, Indian businessman Rajgopal Bhandary is now at the helm of a seed empire. This is the story man who became an entrepreneur due to a life-changing accident. Raj grew up in Bangalore, India. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, but faced with his father’s refusal, he opted for a horticulture school. One day, an accident left him with two broken legs. Bedridden for several months, Raj missed nearly two semesters of classes. Unable to obtain a degree, he couldn’t apply to companies in the sector.
