To celebrate the launch of HEC Alumni's latest collective book on corporate governance, the HEC UK Governance Club is delighted to invite you to a panel discussion with three of the book's contributors who will share their experience on:

Soft Skills for board directors

Following the publication of the HEC Alumni collective book Dictionnaire vécu de la gouvernance / How Boards work : Lessons from Experience, the HEC UK Governance Club is delighted to launch a series of events with its UK-based contributors in the newly opened HEC UK House. Throughout the course of 2023 and beyond, we will be holding a governance breakfast every couple of months to discuss some of the themes highlighted in the book.

The event will be followed by networking drinks.

About the speakers

Catherine Bradley (MSc HEC 1981)

Senior Independant Director (SID) of Kingsfisher plc, non-executive director (NED) of easyJet (chair of the Finance Committee), NED of abrdn plc (chair of the Audit Committee), NED of Johnson Electric Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong. Former member of boards of other listed corporates in the UK and France. Former member of the board of the VRF (SASB) for sustainability standards. Appointed by HM Treasury to the Board of the Financial Conduct Authority in 2014. 
Phillipe Belot (MSc HEC 1981)

Director of the consultancy firm GBRW Limited. While at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a former member of the Supervisory Boards of five Polish industrial companies: Danuta, Fagor Wrozamet, Huto Ostrowiec, Metalpast and Stalexport, chairing the Audit Committee of the latter. 
Ligia Torres (MSc HEC 1981)

Non-executive director of Union Bancaire Privée (Switzerland) and of Alfred Berg Kapitalforvaltning AS (Norway). Former non-executive director of wealth management and asset management companies of the BNP Paribas Group. Former Chairwoman roles at BNPP AM LTD UK, BNPP AM Indonesia and TKB AM in Russia.

  • Format: Interactive panel discussion followed by networking drinks and nibbles.  
  • Tickets: Infinity Pass and fee-paying Alumni: £20 / Alumni and External: £25. You also have the possibility to buy the book when you register. 



For those of you who are not in London and would like to join, we will broadcast the panel discussion online from 6 to 7pm. Online tickets are also available.
