People need food to live but the food we choose to eat can have a significant impact on the planet and out health. Agriculture is the largest cause of global environmental change and is responsible for approximately 30% of global greenhouse emissions. Food waste in the EU is estimated to reach 20% of the total food produced (Eurostat 2018).
Italy, the country of the Slow Food movement, proud of its food and farming traditions, is experiencing a boom of innovative solutions making food and agriculture more sustainable. How can these new technologies ensure our food remains natural, nutritious and tasty while using less resources and reducing its Co2 impact?
In this panel discussion organised by HEC Green Italy Alumni, our 4 speakers, from the start-up and corporate worlds, will share their experience and perspectives, their views on existing and future technologies, especially in the context of the European Green Deal.
