Dear HEC alumni in the UK, Please see below our March newsletter, we look forward to seeing you at our events this month, in particular the Launchpad and the 2nd session of our Impactful Research Talks. Also, please see below an important message from Eloic Peyrache, Dean of HEC Paris, following the events in Eastern Europe. Kind regards, Your HEC in the UK Team Delphine, Lauren, Christina & Wendy | HEC DEAN'S ADRESS FOLLOWING RECENT EVENTS IN EASTERN EUROPE | Dear members of the HEC community, The events of the past few days are for all of us at odds with the world we are trying to build. Many of our students on campus – Ukrainians, Russians, and numerous other nationalities – have expressed this openly this past week. Following the outbreak of a major armed conflict that we all condemn, our community would like to show its unconditional support for the Ukrainian people and all the families of the victims of the conflict. We do believe that the decisions of politicians should not separate us apart; moreover, we are proud that on campus more than 110 different nationalities live and work together to create a better society. Faced with the horror of an armed conflict, our campus will be able to overcome political divisions and remain united in order to continue to embody, through their ability to dialogue, a certain vision of peace. Our actions are inspired by the values of democracy, human rights and responsible leadership and must make our voice heard to promote peace as a necessary condition for a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive world. In recent days, we have established regular contacts with the dozens of alumni who live in Kiev. We are in constant contact with our exchange or double degree students in Russia (none in Ukraine), as well as Ukrainian and Russian students here on campus to ensure that they feel safe. We are committed to our colleagues – professors and staff members– who are shocked and who have family on the front line in this conflict. Thank you to all those who mobilized on campus to make this possible. Thank you all for your particular attention to the well-being of the most affected, whether they are students, graduates or employees of HEC. I also invited all those on Campus who have been particularly distressed by these events to get closer to their colleagues, classmates, the school administration or myself in order to find the listening ear and the support they will need during the difficult period ahead.
