Dear Fellow Alumni,
We are thrilled to invite you to a Champagne holiday party on December 14, 2023 to celebrate the holiday season, taste and learn about different styles of champagne and network in a cosy and friendly atmosphere.
During the event you will be walked through the tasting by a certified Wine and Spirit Trust Educator and will taste 6 different styles of champagne, pair them with appropriate holiday food such as cheese, gougères (puff pastry), smoked Salmon, and other delicacies, as well as get a chance to network and have a good time. As we taste the champagnes, we will provide explanations to understand the champagne labelling terms better and learn about the nuances that make each one unique. For example, what is the difference between a vintage and non vintage and what do you pair with each one. How many kinds of Rosé champagnes do we have and how are they made, what is the difference between a brut nature and a brut champagne, etc.
By the end of the evening you have not only sampled 6 different styles of champagne and learned about them, but also have decided what champagnes you will choose for the upcoming festivities to enjoy with your loved ones. We will taste 4 white champagnes and 2 rosês, all from well-known producers. We will provide a tasting sheet prior to the event to all the participants.
