ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jeffrey Weaver is an associate curator in the Department of Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the J. Paul Getty Museum. A specialist of European decorative arts, with a particular interest in ceramics and glass, he catalogued the collection of Sèvres porcelain for French Art of the Eighteenth Century at The Huntington (2008). Weaver joined the Getty Museum in 1991. He has curated a number of exhibitions on varied topics including shows on Meissen porcelain, eighteenth-century French silver, Japanese export lacquer, medieval stained glass, and the current exhibition Porcelain from Versailles: Vases for a King and Queen at the Getty Center through March 3, 2024.
The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens are hosting over 11 millions art objects, nestled in 207 acres. It is an extraordinarily eclectic art center in San Marino with some of the finest pieces of the Manufacture de Sevres, which continues to inspire across generations and oceans.
The conversation will be hosted jointly by:
- Catherine Trouvet, Doctor in Art History (Paris IV - La Sorbonne), Vice-President of "Les Amis du musée national de Céramique de Sèvres", Member of the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés en objet d'art et de collection), and
