📢 The Consulting & Coaching Club (C3)

is pleased to invite you to the lecture #2 part of its series

« AI and the future of consulting »

Last Tuesday, the HEC Alumni Consulting & Coaching Club launched a series of 4 lectures on a hot topic

👉 How artificial intelligence is transforming the consulting business.

And the room was packed! Junior consultants, senior partners, freelancers, data experts, all gathered to explore a future... that has already begun.

🎙️ We had the privilege of listening to André Cichowlas from CapGemini, an old hand in AI (40 years' experience after all), lay the foundations:

📌 What AI really does today (spoiler: much more than generating slides),

📌 What it doesn't do yet (but it's coming),

📌 And above all: how it will increase the role of the consultant rather than make it disappear.

🛗 We then debated with 5 firms who shared their vision and practices: Julhiet Sterwen (Bastien Albertus), Capgemini Invent (Pierre Demeulemeester), Eleven (Marie Guegain), Talan (Philippe Lerique), Praxton (Mathieu Sene).

💥 Among the evening's key messages :

✅ Yes, AI saves an incredible amount of time (summaries, presentations, extended interviews, research, etc.).

✅ Yes, it makes it possible to find deeper, broader insights more quickly.

✅ Yes, it pushes firms to invent new models: AI agents, augmented KM, advice-as-a-service, human-machine hybridisation.

✅ But no, it doesn't solve everything. And it raises colossal issues: bias, hallucinations, security, confidentiality and technological sovereignty.

🧭 In short, if you don't yet know how to integrate AI into your daily life as a consultant, you're already late... But not too late. You have the right to come to the 2ᵉ session 😅

📅 See you on 6 May for the next part of the series:

‘AI & the consulting pyramid: what skills for tomorrow?’

📍 HEC House – 9 avenue Franklin Roosevelt or online

 18h30 – 21h30

Since its origins, the consultancy profession has been built on a pyramid model:

- Partners defined the strategy

- Managers coordinated the teams

- Juniors carried out the analyses and produced the deliverables.

We are now witnessing the emergence of an enhanced ecosystem where :

- small teams of experts work with AI

- technology handles what cohorts of analysts used to manage

- value migrates from billable hours to measurable client impact

The future will belong to firms that are able to :

- reinvent their value proposition beyond billable hours

- seamlessly integrate human expertise and artificial intelligence

- develop agile governance adapted to the age of uncertainty

We are not witnessing the flattening of the pyramid, but its metamorphosis into an ecosystem where humans and intelligent technologies work together to create unprecedented value.

From junior to partner, what distinctive skills are now expected at each grade? How will these expectations evolve as AI tools become more widespread? Which profiles will be most valued in the future?

Together, we will explore these changing roles and skills:

🔁 young consultants replaced (or boosted?) by AI co-pilots,

📉 seniors who become quick engineers,

🧗‍♀️ new ways of training (or being disrupted),

💬 and what clients really expect from a consultant in the AI era.

Laure Lucchesi (H01) will give an introductory keynote.

We'll also be making the most of the expertise and feedback of a panel of complementary consultants and experts facilitated by Albert Meige (MBA12) :

🤖 Consulting is not disappearing. It's changing. And only those who embrace the hybriditisation AI x human will likely stay in the race.

Stay tuned…

2 next conferences, on 3 June and 8 July, will complete this cycle of reflection and sharing😊

🙏 A big thank to our partner Optimisez la Performance de Votre Entreprise avec Synapscore for his unwavering support !
